Most patients are referred to hospice by a physician or another health care professional; however, anyone may refer a patient.

Care for most hospice patients is provided in their homes. However, Genesis Hospice Care also offers a seven-bed inpatient facility known as the Morrison House. Patients may stay at the Morrison House when their symptoms require more assistance than can be provided at home or when their caregiver needs a respite. Morrison House is a comfortable and home-like environment staffed around-the-clock with nurses, patient care technicians and volunteers. Social workers and chaplains are also available as needed. Families are welcome to visit their loved one at the Morrison House anytime of the day or night. The facility includes a family kitchen, large family room for gatherings, a reflection room for those quiet moments and private patio gardens. Morrison House is a non-smoking facility.
