Provides a work-based learning opportunity, made up of occupational skills development and paid work experience in video production, theater, graphic design, creative and technical writing. Much of the work has an environmental focus and takes place in an outdoor setting. Basic skill tutoring. Job skills such as teamwork, resume writing, codes of conduct, communicating professionally, interviewing, and other job readiness skills are also addressed. Capacity of the program is 50.

Hours
This is a year-round program. Classroom experience is every other Sa: 10:00am-4:00pm. Tutoring takes place Tuesday and Thursday: 3:00-6:00pm. Paid experience is scheduled during summers (5-week maximum).

Application process
Call M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm and schedule an in-person appointment. Following intake appointment, and successful document screening, applicants will be notified within approximately a week and can start the program immediately if they are accepted. Work permits are required. Applicants need to apply for permits through their school district, preferably prior to applying for the program. There may be a waiting list at times.

Eligibility
Aged 14-18. Participation is based on meeting household income requirements based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Participants are engaged to stay in the program until they graduate from high school.

Operates a methadone maintenance/opiod agonist medication outpatient drug treatment facility for opiate and other drugs of addiction. Treatment includes case management, crisis intervention, laboratory urinalysis, methadone administration, individual or group counseling, medical evaluations, and a program for pregnant or postpartum addicted women which offers case management services and links to community resources. Provides alcohol and drug assessments as well as referrals to other appropriate programs. The center also offers educational and prevention programs targeted against alcohol abuse/misuse, urban violence, HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases and tuberculosis.
