The Parks Department maintains 19 city parks (413 acres), and mows more than 260 acres, including 15 other green areas and traffic islands. The Parks Department assists with the maintenance of the Downtown Streetscape with flower planting, tree and plant watering, litter control, and herbicide applications. The Parks Department is also responsible for landscape and tree planting; tree and shrub pruning and removal; maintenance of picnic shelters, restrooms and playgrounds; and fogging for adult mosquitoes with a ULV fogger.
