A Major Unusual Incident (MUI) means the alleged, suspected, or actual occurrence of an incident when the health or welfare of an individual that is receiving services or eligible to receive services through the developmental disabilities system may be adversely affected, or an individual may be placed at a likely risk of harm.

Care providers/caregivers call to report an MUI within 24 Hours of the incident. ***After hours reports of Major Unusual Incidents (MUIs) must be reported to Fairfield County 211.

*Developmentally Disabled clients that have care providers/care givers and receive services from the Board of DD. *MUIs involving police, fire department, transport by emergency squad, EMT's, theft, abuse, assault, etc.
