The National Conference For Community And Justice Of Greater Dayton, Inc.
As a human relations organization founded in 1978, we provide a variety of tailored diversity education services in the workplace which include the corporate sector and public organizations ranging from school districts, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Throughout the year, we encourage and promote diversity leadership and practices. In partnership with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, we sponsor the Greater Dayton Workplace Diversity Award. NCCJ also concentrates on youth development which is delivered in schools and neighborhoods. We host the Anytown Youth Leadership Institute and the Police and Youth Together Programs (PAYT). Anytown is a summer week-long residential experience for high school students that challenge them to learn, live, grow and connect with others. Coming from diverse backgrounds and different communities, Anytown delegates examine the causes of bias, bigotry and all forms of discrimination while building their own ideal community. Their experiences and learnings continue with monthly follow-up sessions for a year. PAYT, offered in collaboration with area law enforcement agencies is an intensive summer day camp with a year of follow-up activities, for students ages 10-13 from diverse communities. PAYT builds bridges between police and youth and their families, teaches respect and appreciation of differences. This program helps to create inclusive, peaceful communities.
