Eligibility

Scioto County residents who are women who are pregnant OR breastfeeding with a baby up to one year of age, OR postpartum. Children are eligible up to 5th birthday. Eligible individuals must be at nutritional risk as determined by an agency professional using the Federal Nutritional Risk Priority System and must meet income guidelines. Income eligibility guidelines are up to 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines that were in effect the previous April 1. Number in household includes unborn children (Example: A pregnant, single woman is a household of 2.) Definition of income does NOT include household assets. Individuals receiving Medicaid, Ohio Works First, or Food Stamps automatically meet income eligibility.

Serves as an application site for energy programs such as Winter Crisis, Summer Crisis, HEAP, PIPP Plus, and Weatherization. Also assists with other emergency needs on a case by case basis. Purpose is to alleviate the effects and causes of poverty through a variety of programs that serve low-income families, children, and older adults.
