Serves Ross County residents with 2025 income under $70,000 if filing as single, or under $95,000 if filing jointly. The service cannot file returns that include income from farms, businesses that pay employees, or rental properties.
Use legal name on all of the forms and FILL OUT THE YELLOW FORM COMPLETELY and clearly. Answer ALL questions. The client's phone number MUST be a working phone number to ensure that the client can be contacted. Inside the yellow form answer the questions to the best of your ability. These are the documents that should be included: --2024 tax return (if available) --Banking information (account & routing number) for direct deposit --Sign the back of the form (if filing jointly, both individuals must sign) --copies of Social Security cards for ALL dependents and family members on the return --copies of drivers license or non-driver ID (if filing jointly, must have copies for both individuals) --W-2 wage earning forms for any employment for the year 2025 --1099 tax forms (such as interest, dividends from stocks and bonds, retirement, Social Security, disability, unemployment, or self-employment) --PIN number from IRS for identity purposes --Child Care receipts (including name, address, tax ID number and amount paid to childcare centers) --Child Tax Credit amount, if received --1098T (Tuition Expenses) and/or 1098E (Student Loan Interest) --Health Insurance Documents (1095 from Affordable Care Act insurance) --Form 14446 Virtual VITA/TCE Taxpayer consent (the form given out by United Way of Ross County) United Way CANNOT make copies for clients.
Beginning Monday, January 12th, 2026, clients may phone M-F: 10:00am-4:00pm to make a tax appointment. Tax appointments take place on the following days and times (closed on Presidents' Day, February 17th): M-F: 10:00am-4:00pm (last appointments at 3:30pm). If no answer, leave a message and it will be returned within 1-2 business days. Appointments begin on February 2nd 2026. Packets cannot be mailed to the client. The packet includes a letter and all forms that need to be completed. Must have packet filled out to complete. The completed paperwork can be returned in the drop box or walk into the office M-F: 10:00am-4:00pm. Allow up to 15 business days for completion.
