Social Security Administration

This is the local office of the federal Social Security Administration. They receive applications for Social Security cards, answer questions about Social Security, and SSI (the Supplemental Security Income Program). The SSI program is the aid for the aged, blind, and disabled, formerly under the Department of Human Services. The office accepts claims under both Social Security (retirement, disability, and survivors) and SSI. They also enroll persons for Medicare.
