Serves ex-offenders residing in Summit County. Applicants MUST bring all required information/documentation to receive assistance.
Applicants MUST Bring all the following information: - The login information (email address and password) for the applicant's email account. Note: If the applicant needs to sign up for an email account, please visit http://www.gmail.com to do so before attending the clinic. All Akron public library branches and The University of Akron School of Law Library offer free computer and internet access that applicants can use to sign up for an email address. - State issued ID or Driver's License. - Last four numbers of Social Security number. - Proof of address. - Pay stub, if applicable. - If the applicant is trying to get an occupational license, the name of the licensing board. - Information (year, offense, county of conviction) about every criminal offense the applicant has been convicted of or have pled guilty to. Note: Staff cannot help the applicant at the clinic if the applicant has any pending criminal charges. - The name, address, and phone number of each of the applicant's employers for the past five (5) years and the dates that the applicant worked there. - The first and last name, address, and phone number for three (3) references. - The first and last name, address, and phone number for three (3) immediate family members or other persons that the applicant has a close relationship with that are different from the applicant's three (3) references. - Any documents related to the job or vocational license the applicant is trying to get including proof that the applicant is unable to get the job or license because of the applicant's criminal offense.
