SNOWPLOW ASSISTANCE PROGRAM | STOW CITY OF

Offers driveway and sidewalk snow removal services to residents who are unable to do so themselves either because they are older adults or totally and permanently disabled. Provides six (6) snow plow vouchers to eligible participants to use at their discretion during the winter season for driveway snow plowing. Offers sidewalk shoveling for participants by Stow-Munroe Falls High School student volunteers whenever snowfall from a single snow event exceeds four inches (4”) City-wide as determined by the City of Stow for a maximum of six (6) snow events.

Application process

Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Visit www.stowohio.org/184/Snowplow-Assistance for more information or a Snowplow Assistance Program application.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet income eligibility and ALL of the following criteria in order to be eligible for this program. Call for details. - Must be age 65 or older OR totally and permanently disabled. - There must not be an able-bodied person age 64 or under residing in the household. - Must be a qualified residents living in a single family home or two-family home with a separate driveway for each unit. Apartment buildings, condominiums, and mobile home communities are not eligible for this service as landlords and homeowners associations, respectively, are responsible for clearing all driveways, parking lots and sidewalks. - Applicants must reside in the home of the property address listed on the application all winter long. Vacant homes and homes where the applicants have left for the winter months are not eligible for this program. - Driveways must be concrete or asphalt and in good condition. Driveways or aprons containing any portion of gravel, limestone, brick, or similar type driveways will not be permitted in the program. Program is not for “driveway aprons” only.
