Next Step - Transitional Housing - Shelter | Family And Community Services
Provides case management services to young adults. Clients will be paired with a trained case manager who will help develop a personalized case plan to foster independence. Participants will learn skills such as financial planning, job readiness, study skills, time management, goal-setting, problem-solving and critical thinking. Ten transitional housing beds are reserved for Geauga County residents only (clients may access case management services even if they are not using the housing portion of this program).

Eligibility
Case management services are available to residents of Portage and Geauga County. Transitional housing program is for Geauga County residents only. Serves young adults ages 18 through 24 yrs. of age. Must be a victim of crime (such as domestic violence or sexual abuse/assault), or at risk of becoming a victim of crime. Definition for "at-risk" population is broad and includes young adults who are homeless (no safe place to stay at night and/or "couch surfing"), aging out of the foster system, have a history of experiencing abuse or neglect while in foster care, or thrown out of parents' home.
