Description

Accepts donations to be distributed at annual Stand Down event. Needed items: - Clean and new/gently used cold weather clothing (hats, scarves, sweaters, sweatshirts, vests, hoodies, jackets, and heavy coats). - Footwear including shoes and boots. - New underwear and socks. - Outdoor gear including sleeping bags and tarps. - Hygiene care kits. - Ditty bags. - Food including gallons of soup and chili, sandwiches, cookies, cakes, pies, fruit, sugar; cream, coffee, and other drinks. - Plastic supplies including sandwich and lunch bags, coffee cups, soup bowls, and silverware. - Financial donations.

Providing organization

Summit County Stand Down

Provides a non-profit organization that offers membership to local veterans with the focus on assisting individuals who are currently homeless, displaced, and other Veterans in need. Organizes special events such as annual Summit County Stand Down, the annual God and Country Dinner, and ongoing projects with the local Veterans Administration. Provides the annual Stand Down which is one-day event including mental health and substance abuse services, eye exams, legal aid, employment services, comfort items, and so forth.
