STORMWATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PROGRAM | CUYAHOGA SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT
Inspects and monitors drainage and sediment regulations on construction sites in Cuyahoga County in order to prevent pollution from storm water runoff and soil erosion. Offers technical assistance to developers, land owners, and municipalities in order to ensure compliance with state and federal permits such as: road layouts, stream, and wetlands protection, proper stream crossings, slope stability, natural resource inventory, and suggested site layout. Conducts and makes available county-wide soil surveys which may be of use to potential property buyers who need information on potential pollutant and/or water table information and to landowners when looking to site a building or before entering a lease for oil and gas drilling. Provides Watershed Coordinators who work in specific watershed areas to evaluate problems and then implement action plans to improve the watershed by working with all stakeholders of the watershed area. Additional information may also be provided regarding soil types, soil health and soil assessment.
