Summer Crisis Program (EHEAP) | Leads Community Action Agency

Program provided by Ohio Development Services Agency through LEADS is designed to help qualified households pay for summer cooling. This program applies to electric utilities only and is available from July 1 through Sept. 30 and provides: One-time payment assistance of up to $175. You do not have to be enrolled in PIPP to be eligible for the Summer Crisis Program. You do not need a disconnection notice to be eligible for the program.

Application process

To apply for the Summer Crisis Program, consumers need to contact their local community action agency. The community action agency determines the benefits that can be provided. The program is available from July 1 until September 30, 2021.

Eligibility

Households must have gross annual income at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines and must have one member of household age 60 or older or a physician has certified a medical necessity.
