Provides a Christian-based residential program to men who have life-controlling problems such as drug or alcohol abuse. Participants first complete a residential "Induction Phase" consisting of intense bible study and work duties (meals provided). Participants are then transferred to an out-of-state facility (located in Missouri) for the second phase where they work and continue spiritual growth and development. Capacity is 58 residents.

Hours

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Program is long-term commitment, starting in Ohio for 4 to 6 months and then the individual is transported to Missouri for an additional 10 months.

Application process

Phone M-Sa: 9:00am-11:00pm (except Wednesday: 5:00pm-9:00pm) or email for information and to request an Induction Packet to be sent by mail or by email. The packet includes the following: brief descriptive brochure; student handbook: the rules and basic schedule of the program; an application - to be completely filled out by the prospective student; brief cover letter. Individuals in jail or prison should write for application and will need a written referral on official letterhead from either a minister or chaplain.

Fee

Fixed entrance fee ($300) for induction phase (3rd-party payments are accepted). Agency asks that individuals who have regular income such as SSI donate towards program expense. Second phase is free.

Eligibility

Men, age 18 or older. Cannot serve those with a sex offense or arson conviction.

Provides a Christian Growth and Development Center which offers a residential program for men age 18 and older, who want help in overcoming life-controlling problems such as, but not limited to, drug and alcohol abuse. TEEN CHALLENGE MISSION STATEMENT: To evangelize people who have life-controlling problems, and to initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in society, applying spiritually motivated Biblical principles to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation and the community.
