Replacement Of Food Assistance Benefits | Medina County Job And Family Services
Provides replacement funds to Food Assistance (food stamp) recipients who have lost food due to a power outage, fire, or governor declared emergency. Replacement funds may replace up to the client's monthly allotment of food assistance. Funds are sent by electronic transfer to the recipient's Ohio Direction Card.

Application process
Call the office to request an application. Client must return application to the agency (on site or by mail) within 10 days of the reported loss. The lobby is closed but a drop box is available outside 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Eligibility
- Serves Ohio Direction Card (food stamp) recipients residing in Medina County who have lost food due to a power outage, fire, or flood. - Loss of Electricity: Power must have been out for at least four (4) hours or more due to a situation beyond the client's control (a shut-off due to a lack of payment does not count). Households should be prepared to provide verification of the extended power outage. - Flooding or Other Disaster: Will only help with replacement due to flooding or other disaster if the incident is a governor declared emergency.
