Every person who owns a dog which becomes three months of age after Jan 31 and before July 1, must, within 30 days, make application for registration from Jan. 31 and pay full year's fee; if dog becomes three months of age after July 1, fee is one-half full year's fee. If such application is not filed within 30 days and fee paid, the auditor shall assess a penalty in an amount equal to the registration fee upon the owner or harborer, which must be paid with the registration. Secs. 955.05, 06.

If filling out paper application, complete and mail to the Auditor's office with a self-addressed envelope, extra postage included; or go to the Richland County Auditor or Richland County Dog Pound office to fill out application, pay fee, and receive dog license.

Dog license $20 per dog from Dec 1-Jan 31. After Jan 31, fee goes up to $40 per dog. Kennel license is $100 per kennel from Dec 1-Jan 31. After Jan 31, fee goes up to $200 per kennel. In case of loss of Registration Tag, law provides a duplicate may be secured at auditor's office for $5. Fees subject to change.
