Application process

- Apply as soon the individual becomes disabled. - Call the toll-free number or visit the www.ssa.gov website for more information. - Process begins with an online application. - An appointment can be scheduled at a local Social Security office if assistance is needed in completing the online application.

No fee. NOTE: No paper checks will be issued after Tuesday September 30th, 2025.
