Application process
The first step in nominating a property is to complete a National Register Preliminary Questionnaire which can be found on the website - go to "Preserving Ohio" and under "National Register of Historic Places" select "Questionnaire and Nomination Process." Can download and mail the questionnaire or can submit the questionnaire and supporting documents electronically. Staff will review the questionnaire to determine if the property appears to meet National Register requirements. If it does, the individual or organization will be provided with a National Register nomination form and instructions for completing it. NOTE: the questionnaire is a preliminary step designed to help determine potential eligibility and not a National Register nomination form. May phone for more information M-F: 9:00am-5:00pm.
