Provides temporary housing for up to 55 families whose children are receiving treatment in a Cleveland-area medical center. Amenities: bed, bath, telephone, food preparation area, laundry facilities, wireless Internet, T.V., relaxation areas, playroom, linens and outdoor play area. Guests are responsible for doing their own cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Volunteer community groups often prepare or donate meals for the entire House.

Application process

A hospital referral is needed as part of the room request process - Will need to have a nurse, coordinator or social worker call (M-F: 8:00am-5:00pm) or email to request a room. A criminal background check is required (may take 1-2 days to process.) Room requests can be made up to seven days prior to arrival.

Fee

Families are asked to make a donation of $20 per night; however, no family is ever turned away due to inability to pay.

Eligibility

Accepts families of children, through age 21, who are receiving care in a Cleveland-area medical, mental health and/or substance abuse facility. Exceptions in certain cases may be available with approval of house staff.
