Eligibility
- Individuals and families may qualify if the household income is under 130% of the Federal Poverty Guideline level.
- Households are categorically eligible/automatically qualified if they are receiving SSI, OWF, or PRC services.
- Changes in household composition and income could result in changes to benefit amount. Recipients are responsible for reporting these or any other changes within 10 days of occurrence. Receiving more than a household is entitled to could result in overpayment penalties or charges of fraud.
- Once approved, individuals and families can remain eligible for benefits until their income exceeds 200% of the Federal Poverty level, at which point their benefits would decrease but not immediately terminate.
- Serves United States citizens.
Required documents
Agency can look up most supporting documents through an electronic records search - the client will be notified if they need to supply any extra supporting documents. If necessary, client may be asked to submit one or more of the following:
- Proof of household composition (Social Security numbers for all members of household).
- Proof of earned income (usually income tax form from previous year and last four (4) pay stubs, but sudden change in income will be taken into account) and proof of any unearned income (child support, alimony, unemployment, Social Security or SSI award letter).
- Proof of outgoing household expenses (rental/lease agreement

- Those who are homeless or have zero (0) income may be eligible for one (1) month expedited benefit within 24 hours.
- Benefits that are not used in a month may be carried over to the next month, up to one (1) year.
