Application process
Check website for photos of dogs available for adoption. Complete the online application. Walk in during service hours to apply, or call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for initial phone screening, followed by a scheduled in-person socialization appointment with potential adoptive pet. If calling after business hours, leave a message and a volunteer will call back. Families should bring children to socialization interview and plan to spend at least 20 minutes with the potential adoptive pet.
Fee
Fixed fee. Adoption fees are $225 for puppies and adults under 9 years of age; $150 for senior dogs, age 9 and older. Adoption fees include the following: general physical and behavioral exam by the experienced shelter staff; canine distemper/parvo combination vaccination and Bordetella and deworming medication; flea/tick treatment; heartworm test; spay/neuter; $50 gift certificate donated by Petland; Ross County Dog License, if the dog owner resides in Ross County.
