Eligibility
Serves residents of Summit County. Transactions fair housing laws cover include houses, apartments, mobile homes, beach rentals, time shares, vacant lots for residential use, nursing homes, student housing, loan and other credit applications, zoning application and permits, burial plots, housing-related services and almost anything related to housing.

Advocates compliance to the Fair Housing Act's requirement to "affirmatively further fair housing" by:
  • Identifying and eliminating housing discrimination with the community.
  • Promote fair housing choice for all persons.
  • Promoting opportunities for inclusive patterns of housing occupancy regardless of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, disability and national origin.
  • Promoting housing that is structurally accessible to, and usable by all persons, particularly people with disabilities.
  • Foster compliance with the nondiscrimination provisions of the Fair Housing Act.

Provides programs that aid in the alleviation of housing related issues such as denial of equal housing opportunities, non-compliance of housing providers or consumers with the Ohio Tenant/Landlord law, unethical lending practices, and lack of awareness of the general public as to their rights and obligations. Offers programs that address a discrimination complaint service, tenant/landlord services, housing counseling, and education/outreach.
