Home Purchase Assistance | Habitat For Humanity - Lima Area
Builds houses with volunteers and families, and then sells the houses to the families for no profit and with a no interest mortgage. Accepted families also receive home ownership training and continued support after moving into the house. If accepted, each family must contribute 300 hours of 'Sweat Equity" building a home or working in the Habitat Lima ReStore. All household members age 18 and older must donate hours of work. This is a long and involved process that generally takes at least a year. Organization typically builds one to three houses every year.
