PRC - DISASTER ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY ADULTS AND DISABLED NOT ELIGIBLE FOR TANF | LUCAS COUNTY JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES

Provides assistance with damage or loss sustained as a direct result of natural disaster, as declared by the Governor of the State of Ohio. Assistance may include emergency shelter or temporary housing, including payment assistance for rent, mortgage, or security deposit; personal expenses, including purchase of necessary clothing for work; home repairs, including payment ofr repair of items affecting basic home structure, including but not limited to walls, roofing, plumbing, furnace, and water supply; appliance purchase and repair, limited to stove or refrigerator. Assistance is based on the totality of the disaster.

Eligibility

Lucas County residents, age 55 or older with no dependent children; Lucas County residents, age 18 and older, who have no dependents and receive disability payments such as SSI, Social Security Disability, VA Disabilty, PERS Disability, Railroad Retirement Disability, or Black Lung benefits. Income must be below 200% of the federal poverty level. This assistance should not duplicate payment for a service provided by another service or agency.
