Roof Replacement Program | Columbus Department Of Development

Assists individuals and families to remain in their homes and live independently in a safe and sound environment whos roofs current conditions in which water is or has a high probability of leaking into the interior of the home due to disrepiar or deterioration of the roof system. Types of repairs include but are not limited to chimneys, coverings, sheathing, rafters, flashings, vents, structural members, soffits, fascia, gutters and downspouts. Proper ventilation of the structure to prevent condensation of moisture shall be considered a necessary condition of repair. Funds may also be used for health, and safety work including but not limited to installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, in accordance with City housing standards.

Eligibility

Eligible properties include owner-occupied properties located within the City of Columbus corporate limits. Households include families earning 80% or less of the area median income (AMI) as determined by HUD regulations, with adjustments for smaller and larger families/households. The applicant must have owned and occupied the property for 12 months prior to the time of application, be current on mortgage payments, current on bankruptcy payments and have no outstanding liens.
