Description
Coordinates a disability insurance program mandated by the state and funded by employer contributions. Provides compensation to covered employees for loss of their earnings as a result of an accidental injury or occupational disease sustained during employment, or which compensates dependents in case of a work-related death. NOTE: The program may provide for assistance including income replacement and supplement; scheduled awards for loss of sight or hearing, dismemberment, or disfigurement; vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and retraining to enable a possible return to the workforce; and funeral expenses.
