Eligibility
Eligibility is for individuals needing rent assistance only, and have a qualifying temporary emergency. Applicants must be employed, or have been employed within the past 12 months; employed either (full-time, part-time, or temporary) or became unemployed due to the COVID-19. COMPASS is no longer assisting with utilities, ONLY rent, and will only assist with up to $1,000 for rent (evictions only, no deposits or first month's rent). Clients must pay the balance down to $1,000 before receiving assistance.
Required documents
RENT DOCS NEEDED Photo ID for all adults, birth certificates for everyone in the household, proof of why you are unable to pay current month (must prove temporary hardship), last 30 days of paystubs, signed lease, late notice, and rent ledger. Assistance is determined on a case by case basis.
