  • be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified non-citizen
  • reside in a state with an active major disaster declaration, and in a county that has been designated for Individual Assistance
  • have necessary expenses that were directly caused by the declared disaster that were not already covered by insurance or other forms of disaster assistance
  • apply for assistance within 18 months of the date the President declared the disaster

Description

Provides financial assistance to eligible individuals and households affected by a major disaster. Funding provided through the program can generally be used to pay for: temporary housing, housing repair or replacement, moving and storage expenses, personal property replacement, and other expenses not covered by insurance or other programs.
