Street Maintenance | City Of Newark Division Of Public Service

Oversees maintenance of city streets. This includes of patching potholes as well as larger re-paving projects during the spring and summer months. The street department is also responsible for storm drains, mowing during the grass-growing season, leaf pick-up in October, street sweeping, and snow clearance. Complaints or questions regarding any of these areas may be made by calling the office.

Office is responsible for budgeting, personnel, purchasing, interception of citizen complaints for the department, and management of right of way and utilities such as Water, Sewer and Storm. In addition it is responsible for the maintenance of municipal buildings. The office produces new ordinances as needed to address situations that arise from City growth in addition to routine service contracts, equipment leases, etc.
