Eligibility
To apply for a marriage license: - Both parties must be present. - At least one applicant must be a resident of Medina County. If both parties reside outside of the State of Ohio, then the marriage ceremony must take place in Medina County, Ohio. - Males 18 years of age and females at 16 years, and not nearer of kin than second cousins, may apply for a license. - Female applicants 16 or 17 years of age must have the consent of their parents, surviving parent, guardian, or person or agency awarded permanent custody. - Males under 18 years and females under 16 years must have the consent of the Juvenile Court. - Other exceptions to parental consent may apply in certain circumstances.
