Eligibility
In order for a kinship caregiver(s) to eligible for the Kinship Permanency Incentive program, all of the following criteria must be met:
- On July 1, 2005 or thereafter, a court issued an order granting legal custody or guardianship to the kinship caregiver(s).
- The child currently resides with the kinship caregiver(s).
- The kinship caregiver(s) is a resident of the state of Ohio.
- The placement is approved by the public children services agency (PCSA) or private child placing agency (PCPA). For children placed directly with a kinship caregiver by a court or relative, the PCSA shall assess the home prior to the approval of the Kinship Permanency Incentive program.
- The gross income of the kinship caregiver's family, with the minor child, does not exceed 300% of the Federal Poverty Guideline Level.

No fee for program but applicant must pay for Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) fingerprint check.

Provides short term, time-limited payments to relative caregivers who have obtained permanent legal custody of a child. Not emergency assistance. Payments are designed to reimburse the initial costs associated with taking a relative's child/ren into the home. Availability determined by state budget and availability of funds.
