New Directions prevention programs are open to anyone interested in building safer, healthier relationships and communities. Prevention and education services are available to all individuals, schools and community organizations. Participation is free and voluntary, and programs are designed to be inclusive, developmentally appropriate and accessible to everyone.
Hours for New Directions prevention and education programs vary based on school schedules, community needs and event times. If you are requesting a program or event outside of standard business hours, (8am-5pm), please submit your request at least one month in advance to allow adequate time for scheduling and preparation.

Description

Participants learn the about different types of intimate partner violence and discuss the power and control associated with these relationships. Participants also learn and practice a variety of ways to be an active bystander and discuss specific examples of what this may look like, what words to say, how to keep themselves safe, and who to contact in a variety of situations.

New Directions provides free and confidential resources for individuals who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking. Services include a 24/7 crisis hotline, emergency crisis shelter and advocacy supports. New Directions also offers support groups, outreach and awareness initiatives and prevention and education programs.
