Assisted Living Waiver Program | Area Agency On Aging Region 9

Provides funds to cover the cost of care in an assisted living center for those who meet eligibility and require a residential setting but not the services of a nursing home. Does not cover medication, co-pays, or services such as a visiting nurse. Assisted living facilities must have agreed to accept this reimbursement and must be certified by this agency.

Application process

Call the office and ask for a screener. They will ask questions and provide information regarding required documentation and the process. A face-to-face assessment will be scheduled with a Registered Nurse or Licensed Social Worker.

Fee

- Information regarding fees will be discussed during the telephonic/face-to-face assessment. Participants pay standard room and board costs. - Assisted living facilities must have agreed to accept this reimbursement and must be certified by this agency.

Eligibility

- Serves individuals age 21 or older that need hands-on assistance with daily living activities (such as dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming, eating, or general mobility) and that meet the financial criteria for Medicaid eligibility. - Agency serves Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum, and Tuscarawas counties, although service in those counties is subject to facilities that accept the waiver and are currently certified and contracted assisted living providers with AAA9.
