Operates an ambient air monitoring network. Investigates complaints of air pollution problems. Serves as an information source about indoor air quality issues.

Provides the rescue, fire fighting, and Emergency Medical services for the City of Mansfield. Issues burn permits, bonfires and fireworks.

Offers information and permits regarding air pollution control, industrial air emissions, and outdoor burning. Offers information about asbestos program by calling 225-4436 Regional Air Pollution Control Agency (RAPCA). Offers information about indoor air quality and radon. Also offers a 24 hour phone line (223-3222) which provides taped information about the air quality (mold and pollen counts etc.) in Dayton.

Provides emergency fire, medical, and rescue services to the City of Ashland and two contractual townships, Milton and Montgomery. Assists with smoke detector installation and provides information for Open Burning Regulations. Also provides the Knox Box Program, installing a locked key box to resident's door.
