Provides assistance to qualified individuals and families. Intended to meet the local needs of families to overcome immediate barriers and help them become and stay self-supporting. Assistance available includes: Employment related expenses such as: -Vehicle repairs. - Driver's license fees (new or expired, does not include reinstatement). - Reimbursements for tools, equipment, uniforms, shoes/boots, and so forth. - Fingerprinting costs. - Gas vouchers for new employment (until receipt of first paycheck). Shelter/Housing expenses such as: - Rent or deposit for forestalling court-ordered evictions in rentals. - Bills to forestall utility shutoffs (gas, electric and water). - Fuel oil and propane purposes. - Emergency shelter due to fire, natural disaster, states of emergency, or domestic violence situations. Kinship assistance includes: - For a new kinship caregiver within six (6) months of a child moving into the home: Furniture and other items needs to care for children in the home. - Once a child(ren) has been with a kinship provider for more than six (6) months: There is an available reimbursement of child care costs up to four (4) months a year.

Provides assistance with transportation expenses in order to help clients with new employment or to retain employment. Provides assistance with vehicle repairs (not to exceed $1,000 in a 24-month period); gasoline vouchers ($50 per month limit and maximum of $200 in 12-month period); Driver's License reinstatement (once per lifetime - must not be due to DUI or child support); Automobile insurance (up to four (4) months - no cap - once in a lifetime).

Works directly with voters to ensure they have the ID they need to cast a ballot that counts. - Scheduling appointments and covering cost to obtain personal documents (such as Social Security card, proof of residence, birth certificate, name change records, naturalization certificate) needed to obtain an ID that is suitable for voting (state photo ID or driver's license). - Arranging and paying for transportation to their local ID-issuing office (DMV or Social Security office). - Answering questions about their state’s voter ID laws. - Providing pro bono legal assistance with certain document issues. Also will help pay for professional testing/certification and licensing fees, identification materials (driver's license, state identification, birth certificates), driver's education, and other items as deemed appropriate by the agency.
