Financial management is designed to teach participants to take control of their finances to secure economic stability through education about family budgeting, savings, and behaviors that affect financial stabilty.

Financial Literacy classes are offered to help establish economic self-sufficiency. Topics include budgeting understanding and building credit, tax preparation, saving and checking accounts, debt resolution and accessing loans.

Offers free one-on-one counseling and group workshops on financial literacy topics Topics may include setting up a budget, understanding banking and credit, and homeownership preparation.

Offers education support assistance, access to community resources, financial management sessions, mentorship, and substance abuse prevention support.

Provides non-emergency information and referral services for Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull Counties via telephone and online public resource database; text program for food pantry referrals; basic information and referral for surrounding areas, state and national resources. Staff is trained in crisis intervention, suicide prevention and supportive listening.

3 day class to prepare the individual for employment. Includes resume preparation, interviewing skills, confidence building activities, and employability skills. Barriers to employment will be discussed and help will be provided to overcome these barriers. The director will help the individual find employment and will work with the employer and employee throughout the first 1-2 years of employment.

Provides information on issues affecting individual finances, including preventing mortgage foreclosure, consumer issues, budgeting, wealth building, and notary services for the community.

Provide thrift store, Pathways to Independence financial literacy classes, emergency household items provided for those experiencing loss through fire, flood, domestic violence, etc, Jobs READY-SET-GO program, monthly food distribution, diaper distribution, and community garden.

Offers personal enrichment and recreational programs such as first aid, home repair instruction, photography, real estate, scrapbooking, dance, computer instruction and financial management classes. Provides babysitting instruction, days camps and art and crafts for youth.

Provides free resources to active military personnel in the areas of financial literacy and consumer protection. The five (5) main components of the program are: - Education: Many Local BBBs on and around military installations teach financial readiness classes to service members. - Outreach: BBB staff attend and support community fairs, conferences and other events, speaking with service members and distributing information. - Information: BBB website provides a one-stop shop for articles, links and consumer alerts for each branch of service. The website, Facebook page and X/Twitter have a resources page with consumer guides written for military members. Provides the free app, "Military & Money", which features educational resources and tools to help users make informed decisions about money. - Data Collection: Analyzes BBB data to help identify the threats and needs of the military community in the marketplace. - Complaint and Dispute Resolution: Filing a complaint with BBB helps military consumers resolve disputes and alert the BBB to issues affecting the military community at large.

Provides a variety of personal enrichment and recreational activities such as arts and crafts for adults, dancing instruction for youth and adults, personal financial management for adults, and karate for youth.

Provides people with diabetes and their family members class activities that consist of three sessions that educate on appropriate food choices. The classes are conducted by a certified diabetes educator. This program also provides financial education to agencies, organizations, individuals and families in basic budgeting, credit and debt management and consumer issues, homebuyer education and counseling. At the end of the training you will receive a 5 year certificate.

Connects individuals and families to nonprofit member agencies offering telephone, online, and in-person counseling about managing household finances, escaping debt, affordable home ownership, filing bankruptcy, managing student loan debt, and improving credit. People can search the website by zip code for nearest agencies. Member agencies can assist with developing personalized budget plans and Debt Management Plans (DMPs).

Offers an educational website that has information about budgeting, saving, borrowing, and retirement.

Provides one-on-one financial coaching and counseling, group-based and individual financial education services, group-based and individual job readiness training, soft-skills development, free tax preparation services, financial education and referrals, and access to public benefits applications and work supports through one-on-one Ohio Benefits Bank counseling.

Offers educational and informational programs in 3 broad areas; Healthy People, Healthy Finances, and Healthy Relationships. The Family and Consumer Sciences Educator collaborates with individuals and organizations in the service area to extend the educational outreach of The Ohio State University and offer research-based knowledge and information to county residents. Offers (2) three-hour sessions of financial fitness workshops to improve your money management skills. Topics covered include: Budgeting, Financial Planning, Savings, Banking, Credit, Taxes and Insurance. Classes are available at the Homeport Housing Advisory Center or online and recommeded for: - First-time homebuyers with a credit score of less than 640 and/or any one of the following situations: - Needs assistance with creating a spending plan/ budget - Low credit score or unaware of credit score, - Limited savings, - Less than 18 months of steady income, - Bankruptcy not yet discharged/dismissed or its only been 1-2 years since it’s been discharged/dismissed.
