Provides and coordinates violence and bullying prevention efforts using both school-based and community-based intervention to reduce aggressive behavior.
TAC is a youth-led prevention team of high school students who focus on preventing unhealthy behaviors among Knox County youth before they begin while serving as ambassadors of healthy lifestyles in their schools and communities.
Houses the Summit Victim Assistance Academy, which offers various educational training and professional development opportunities to allied professionals in the community. Services are a Three Tier Model-Prevention, Consultation, and Treatment for children and teens. Places gang violence intervention specialists in South and East side neighborhoods where 14-24 year-olds stand at high risk of gang involvement. Specialists constructively mediate conflict and mentor and connect youth to positive opportunities. Aims to reduce crime and gang-related violence; keeps youth safe and on-track to healthy, productive lives; encourages youth involvement in work readiness activities, academics or recreation; responds realistically and holistically to the lure of gang life.
Provides a youth violence prevention program that engages young people at the highest risk of shooting or being shot. Services include court advocacy, hospital-based programs, employment opportunities, mental health services, and the deployment of credible messengers, conflict mediation, crisis response, and referrals to resources to assist with long-term stability.
PACE is New Directions Parent and Child Education program that addresses youth facing multiple risk factors, providing space for youth and parents to learn and grow together. The PACE program includes two tracks, one for the parent/caregiver and one for the youth where they learn about healthy relationships, digital respect and safety and risky behaviors.
