Provides protective and advocacy services for adults with developmental disabilities in the state of Ohio; technical assistance; speakers available for groups.

Protects and advocates, in partnership with people with disabilities, for human, civil and legal rights. Program staff include ombudspersons, disability rights advocates and attorneys who advocate for individual and systemic change through individual, group and class action cases; monitoring policies and legislative activity; and education and training.

Support works to enhance self esteem and self worth NAMI listens, shares knowledge, and works to reduce stigmas. Research strives to learn what is being done to define the illness and provide proper medication and treatment.

Provides legal advocacy to ensure the humane care, treatment, habilitation and protection of persons with developmental disabilities. Serves people in Ohio communities and developmental centers, and students with developmental disabilities receiving special education in private or public schools or other settings.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) recognizes and protects the civil rights of people with disabilities. It prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. SOCIL provides assistance in addressing discrimination and barriers to access in the community, including housing, employment, transportation, and recreation.

Provides support services to parents and families of children with a disability. They respond to inquiries from school districts, the general public and specifically to families of children with a disability to provide information, support, and assistance regarding special education programs and services. Our staff and consultants answer telephone inquiries, meets one-on-one with families as necessary, and provide guidance in understanding IDEA and the Ohio Operating Standards and, the provision of services available in the local school district.

Provides individual and systems advocacy for persons with disabilities.
