Provides a legal clinic at Juvenile Court for those seeking assistance in filling out the pro se or do-it-yourself forms from the Clerk's office. The forms range from grandparents seeking custody or visitation, parents trying to establish custody, visitation or paternity, among other issues. Legal assistance IS NOT PROVIDED with divorce cases or custody cases resulting from divorce.

A service provided to assist individuals who qualify for the Expedited Pardon Project to fill out and complete their application and forms.

Provides support to those navigating the refugee/immigration process such as helping clients with filling out and submitting documents related to their refugee status and/or immigration case (such as applying for green cards, various immigration papers, and/or travel documents). Gives advice on test preparation, what to expect during the process, and what questions to expect during interviews with government officials. Provides basic information on how to prepare for obtaining employment (filling out applications, what to wear, how to handle job interviews). Provides translation assiatnce (English to Somali). Does not give legal advice (but will refer the client to the appropriate agencies if they need it).

Provides information, forms, and pro se packets for those seeking to file for legal custody or visitation Pro Se (by themselves without Legal Counsel). Will assist those interested in filing for custody or visitation of a child by determining, explaining and providing the appropriate paperwork. Will review the completed paperwork for completeness prior to filing at Juvenile Court. Will also review Poverty Affidavits for the Juvenile Court. Does not provide legal advice.

Provides a central location where the public and attorneys can obtain forms and basic information necessary to pursue their domestic relations cases (including divorce). Individuals unfamiliar with the Court’s procedures may pick up packages of the documents needed for certain types of cases (including forms for those who need to modify their custody agreement). Computers are also available for completing some forms and calculating child support guideline worksheets. Does not provide legal advice. Cannot help individuals prepare paperwork, but can let people know in advance of their court appearance what is needed and what to expect when they come to court.

Provides outreach services which include transportation to medical appointments; home visiting; assistance with tax and insurance forms and applications. Also a site for the Golden Buckeye program.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) provides rental assistance to very low income families, allowing them the opportunity to live in decent, safe, and affordable housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority (KMHA) administers the HCVP Program in Knox County.

Provides social services to families and individuals experiencing barriers with accessing public benefits and community resources. Services include (but are not limited to) public benefit application assistance, resource education, referrals to access community resources, and replacement of vital documents.

Assists veterans obtain copies of their military records and decorations. Provides the necessary SF-180 form. Office also has the emergency phone numbers for all branches of the military in case a veteran's records are needed for medical care. Assists veterans in requesting a 'review of discharge' to modify their discharge status; for example, from 'general' to 'honorable'.

Investigates suspected cases of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of Preble County residents ages 60 and up. Also provides case management and community collaboration to alleviate the alleged abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation.

Investigates reports of abused, neglected, or exploited seniors AGED 60 AND OLDER; includes referrals for in-home services and assistance in obtaining financial or medical benefits.

Offers individuals help with daily living skills, help filling out forms for different services, help finding housing, and job placement.

Provides information to self-represented persons. Can provide the following information: information contained in the court docket, about court processes and procedures, examples of forms or pleadings to be used as a guide, referrals to appropriate agencies or other resources, pamphlets, and legal reference materials. Can also provide legal forms. NOTE: staff will not provide legal advice.
