Provides a central location where the public and attorneys can obtain forms and basic information necessary to pursue their domestic relations cases (including divorce). Individuals unfamiliar with the Court’s procedures may pick up packages of the documents needed for certain types of cases (including forms for those who need to modify their custody agreement). Computers are also available for completing some forms and calculating child support guideline worksheets. Does not provide legal advice. Cannot help individuals prepare paperwork, but can let people know in advance of their court appearance what is needed and what to expect when they come to court.

Accepts PIPP applications via mail or by fax. The applacation is then submitted to the Ohio Department of Development. Note: it is quicker to submit directly to the Ohio Department of Development.

Can provide the following information: information contained in the court docket, about court processes and procedures, examples of forms or pleadings to be used as a guide, referrals to appropriate agencies or other resources, pamphlets, and legal reference materials. Assists individuals with completing Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. Also assists individuals with completing paperwork that is required to respond to legal action and reviews legal documentation an individual has received to help explain its meaning.

Assists veterans and their dependents in applying for state and federal benefits; including: pension and compensation claims insurance, hospitals and nursing home care. Also helps veterans at no cost to obtain an Veterans ID card.

Offers Pro Se Coaching sessions, which consists of a review of supporting documents for those who choose to self-manage uncontested matters. Provides document guidance on the following: child support modification; custody and visitation application; spousal support, dissolution, divorce, living will, small claims, power of attorney, civil lawsuit answer, name change, DBAs, incorporation, LLC, trademark, or service mark. Also, provides a mobile notary service for those who choose to self-manage their claims. Note: DOES NOT give legal advice. Those seeking legal advice should contact a qualified attorney.

Provides outreach services which include transportation to medical appointments (for persons 60+); home visiting; assistance with tax and insurance forms and applications. Also a site for the Golden Buckeye program.

Provides a legal clinic at Juvenile Court for those seeking assistance in filling out the pro se or do-it-yourself forms from the Clerk's office. The forms range from grandparents seeking custody or visitation, parents trying to establish custody, visitation or paternity, among other issues. Legal assistance IS NOT PROVIDED with divorce cases or custody cases resulting from divorce.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) provides rental assistance to very low income families, allowing them the opportunity to live in decent, safe, and affordable housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority (KMHA) administers the HCVP Program in Knox County.

Investigates suspected cases of abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation of Preble County residents ages 60 and up. Also provides case management and community collaboration to alleviate the alleged abuse, neglect, and/or exploitation.

Provides information about the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP). Service includes a PIPP program success booklet, help with understanding PIPP and Graduate PIPP, and education about reverification. Staff is on site to educate. PIPP is transitioning to OH|ID this calendar year - will also be helping clients needing assistance with that transition.

Provides assistance with paperwork for Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, housing, food stamps, insurance, etc.

Provides HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) applications and will assist older adults with completion of the HEAP application. Provides information on telephone discounts and also information regarding the Summer and Winter Crisis Programs through the Ohio Development Services Agency.

A service provided to assist individuals who qualify for the Expedited Pardon Project to fill out and complete their application and forms.

Offers information on programs and activities for senior citizens, such as social activities, planned trips, monthly speakers, and Tax Aid (income tax forms assistance from February through March). Also offers an eight hour course on defensive driving skills for seniors.

Provides social services to families and individuals experiencing barriers with accessing public benefits and community resources. Services include (but are not limited to) public benefit application assistance, resource education, referrals to access community resources, and replacement of vital documents.
