East Knox Preschool | Knox Educational Service Center

Early childhood programs providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development of young children while responding to the needs of families. Programs encompass six components - developmental screening and assessment, curriculum, adult-child interaction, relations between home and school, developmental evaluation of the child, and transition to an appropriate program and is responsive to individual differences of both typically developing children and children with disabilities. Classrooms consists of two types of preschool experiences: PUBLIC PRESCHOOL and INTEGRATED PRESCHOOL. A Public Preschool classroom will contain approximately 16, mostly typically developing, students per session. An Integrated Preschool Classroom will contain approximately 12 students, six typically developing children, and six children with special needs. Both types of classrooms will contain a licensed teacher, and an assistant teacher. Some integrated classrooms may also contain classroom aides depending on the needs of the children involved.

Hopewell School | Coshocton County Board Of Developmental Disabilities

Hopewell School offers two school age classrooms for students ages 6-21. Classes are provided for children who meet the eligibility requirements for students with multiple disabilities and their IEP team has determined that Hopewell School is the least restrictive environment for the student. The school age teachers use the Attainment Curriculum which focuses on academics, social skills, self-care skills, life skills and communication. Throughout the day you may see the students doing laundry, identifying money, shredding paper, sorting silverware, and working on hygiene skills. The school provides speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, and adaptive physical education in order to meet the individual needs of all students.
