High-quality early learning and affordable child care for low-income, working families.

Provides continuing education courses to licensed electrical, plumbing, hydronics, heating ventilation and air conditioning, and refrigeration contractors. Courses offer information about new developments, procedures, equipment, or products affecting their businesses, allowing them to perform quality work for Ohio residents.

Offers a school-readiness program. Students learn and practice academic skills, classroom skills, and social skills to prepare them to enter school and succeed in Kindergarten and beyond. Strong focus on early literacy, especially for English language learners.

Provides educational programming, training, and consultation about gerontology and geriatric issues to faculty, health care professionals and consumers throughout the State of Ohio in order to improve health care for older adults. The Center is a consortium of nationally recognized academic leaders in gerontology and geriatric medicine. In addition to CWRU School of Medicine, the consortium includes Bowling Green State University, Miami University, Ohio University of Osteopathic Medicine and Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. Also makes available training modules/curriculum about a variety of topics related to aging, especially Alzheimer's disease.

Provides summer enrichment that helps children fall in love with reading, increases their self-esteem, and generates more positive attitudes toward learning.

The Adult Diploma Program at C-TEC’s Adult Education Center is a new opportunity for any resident of Ohio who is 20 years old or older, and does not already have a High School Diploma or GED credential. Learning is student-centered, self-paced and begins with a Career Pathway in mind. From student orientation, career counseling, assessment and enrichment classes, to technical training that leads to an industry approved credential, this program is designed to provide support and promote success during and after graduation. Adult Diploma participants will receive their High School Diploma upon successful completion of the credential program, and acquiring the designated industry credential for their assigned program. Offers workshops that are designed to implement creative approaches when working with special needs clients. Techniques used and taught may include guided imagery, music/dance/art therapy, writing, movement, and more. Topics vary.

Provides various monthly community classes such as cooking and nutrition classes, CPR courses, GED classes, fitness classes, and health screenings.

The Language Education Academy and Resource Network (LEARN) offers English as a Second Language (ESL) and foreign language instruction using a highly communicative approach. Courses are offered from beginning to advanced levels during daytime and evening hours at the LEARN training facility, and customized individual or group training and tutoring programs are available upon request both at the LEARN facility or at a client's own site.

Areas covered include: bank teller training, truck driver training, training and education for those in the construction trades, small business development, customer service, careers working with aging individuals, health care careers (State Tested Nursing Assistant-STNA- training), Spanish for health care professionals, social work certification, human resources, meeting/event planning, food service/hospitality, classes to prepare for standardized tests such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and other college entrance exams, police/fire/emergency training, and computer classes (including certification in advanced information technology).

The Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County, Aspire program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Career Center. The Aspire program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas: - Basic literacy skills - GED exam preparation - Math - Language Arts - Social Studies - Life skills - Employability skills - Basic computer skills.

Provides a variety of counseling and psychological support services for students and their families. Also provides guidance on issues of school adjustment, advanced educational options, career choices and summer employment.

Provides children with homework assistance, breakfast/snack, physical activities, fun extended learning opportunities, and a safe place to have fun outside the school day; before and after school care as well as a summer camp.
