The Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County, Aspire program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Career Center. The Aspire program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas: - Basic literacy skills - GED exam preparation - Math - Language Arts - Social Studies - Life skills - Employability skills - Basic computer skills.
Provides leadership training with a focus on implementing youth development programs. Program teaches the basic skills of becoming a leader and collaborating with other leadership styles. Includes a series on verbal presentation and facilitation. It also provides basic tools and skills to support a youth program, including how to develop program planning and grant writing. This program is designed for organizations that have a youth leadership team.
Provides training, conferences, and independent study courses on a variety of disaster issues such as disaster preparedness, disaster mitigation, and coping with disasters. Some courses offer CEU's.
