The Ohio Means Jobs – Athens County, Aspire program provides classes and individual instruction for adults who wish to improve their basic skills and/or prepare for the General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test, which can now be taken at Tri-County Career Center. The Aspire program provides small group and individual instruction in the following areas: - Basic literacy skills - GED exam preparation - Math - Language Arts - Social Studies - Life skills - Employability skills - Basic computer skills.

Provides a variety of adult literacy services. Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take the GED test (the equivalent of a high school diploma), computer skills classes, and a program to help refresh the skills of those aiming for higher education after experiencing a gap in their schooling.

Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE), now called ASPIRE, is available at a variety of convenient times and at no charge. These classes are a great way to improve your employability or prepare to enroll in college or other training programs. GED - Learn how to use a scientific calculator (used in the GED tests), as well as prepare for the GED test. You can improve math, reading and writing skills to increase college placement and work-place credential scores. Classes help students prepare for the world of work. Serves students who left high school before earning their diploma, high school graduates who need additional skills for employment, and high school graduates who need remedial academic skills for college. Helps prepare students for work keys test for adult career tech programs and the Adult Diploma Program.

Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take one of the tests that serves as the equivalent of a high school diploma, high school equivalency testing, classes to develop English-speaking skills when a first language is not English, and the opportunity for eligible individuals to complete requirements for a high school diploma by passing a job skills test and completing job training in health care, manufacturing, logistics, food preparation, emergency services or construction. Successful fulfillment of job skills test and job training result in a high school diploma as well as any earned certificate.
