Provides a youth literacy program that helps children enhance their literacy skills. Children meet 1-on-1 with adult volunteers.

Provides a variety of adult literacy services. Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take one of the tests that serves as the equivalent of a high school diploma, high school equivalency testing, classes to develop English-speaking skills when a first language is not English, and the opportunity for eligible individuals to complete requirements for a high school diploma by passing a job skills test and completing job training in health care, manufacturing, logistics, food preparation, emergency services or construction. Successful fulfillment of job skills test and job training result in a high school diploma as well as any earned certificate.

Provides one-on-one tutoring to adults who wish to improve their reading, writing, math or English skills.

Provides a youth literacy program. African American men volunteer to work with children to help them increase their literacy skills.

Provides a 6-week workshop that provides families and caregivers with hands-on strategies for building literacy at home, reinforces the fact that parents and caregivers are their child's first and most important teacher, and builds text-rich environments at home by providing take-home books and other parent resources for families who participate in the program. All participants receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program and other incentives.

Thurber House offers children's writing programs year round for students in grades 2-12. No matter the class, students will be challenged to write outside the box, use their imagination, expand their horizons, and have fun creating new things! Offers a literacy-based program that is designed to increase school readiness and parent involvement by preparing children for the transition to Kindergarten and supporting them in the first year. Provides year round programming starting in summer before entering Kindergarten. School year programming Includes Parents as Partners programming. School year programming includes Parent/Caregiver Workshops, Family Fun Nights, Breakfast and Educational Fun with Santa, Very Important Parent/Caregiver Breakfast, Bridge to First Grade dinner and informational event.

Provides an array of services including information and reference materials, family and child literacy programs, meeting spaces, book clubs etc.

Provides resources, support and opportunities for life-long learning to adults. Classes include Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE), college preparation for math and English, GED preparation, GED practice testing, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Kindergarten-readiness program focused on building reading, language, and social skills. Provides home visits and group-based learning opportunities including developmental screens, parent support and education.

Provides literacy tutoring for those children having issues with reading at their grade level. Concentration is on K-3rd Grade Level reading.

Provides instruction of financial literacy and basic skills development for adults facing barriers to employment, advancement, entrance to post-secondary education and skilled training programs. Program enhances clients’ knowledge of financial concepts and skills, and assists in improving literacy levels.to increase completion rates of low-literate adults

Passport Acceptance Facility: Department of State approved facility to accept in-person applications for new passports. Accepts the application form, performs all initial checks, administers oath and accepts payment. **NOTE** Does not provide passport photos. Notary Public Services: Provides notary services for individuals only. **NOTE** * The library will not provide witnesses and witnesses may not be solicited from library staff or patrons using the library. In order to serve as a witness, the witness must personally know the person whose document is being notarized and must be in possession of valid photo identification. * Notary services are not available for the following: mortgage or real estate documents, employment eligibility verification I-9 forms, certification of vital records (birth, marriage, death), auto titles without the buyer’s address and name. * Notaries cannot provide legal advice. * Notaries reserve the right to refuse to notarize any document. Career Online High School: Online high school diploma and career certification program. **NOTE** This is not a GED program. Successful graduates will earn a high school diploma through an accredited high school. Adult Literacy Program: Provides tutoring service to adults with low literacy skills.

Helps parents become literacy leaders in their homes. Parents attend a session while their pre-school children will learn a corresponding lesson. Then parents and children will come together to share what they've learned. Parents are encouraged to teach their children their newly obtained skills to re-establish their role as the literacy leader in the home.

Designed to address the educational and training needs of the community. Offers Adult Basic Literacy Classes (ABLE) that assist adults with review of basic subjects such as: math, reading , writing, English for self-improvement and/or General Equivalence Diploma (GED) test preparation. Technical and Trade classes provide classroom related requirements for apprenticeships. Offers family literacy providing ABLE/GED students with early childhood literacy and parenting skills through the Even Start Program.
