Provides limited public health services for the Village of North Randall. Services include licensing of food facilities, enforcement of restaurant/food handling regulations, food poisoning investigations and home sanitation.

Includes licensing and inspecting restaurants to help protect the community from food borne illnesses; inspecting schools to help create healthy learning environments;inspecting retail food operations, licensing and inspecting public pools and spas, manufactured home parks, campgrounds, and tattoo establishments; septic system consultations, permits and inspections; water consultations and testing; permits and inspections for plumbing systems and private wells;lead poisoning prevention, rabies quarantine; and solid waste inspection of disposal facilities.

Investigates reported cases of infectious diseases.

Provides a walk-in immunization clinic for adult and children. Also provides: Blood pressure screenings, communicable disease control, health education, nutrition services, and prevention services.

Issues licenses for restaurants, grocery stores, vending machines that dispense perishable items, temporary food events, and mobile food operators. Conducts periodic inspections of these facilities in service area. Assists those who are planning to open businesses to make application for licensing. Responds to consumer complaints. Reports and investigates food-borne illnesses. Answers questions about food recalls. Offers food safety education classes.

Provide vital statistics: birth and death records; nursing services: immunizations, disease investigations; environmental services: licensing, inspection and consultation (animal bites/rabies, body art and tattoo, food program and inspection, recreational water, nuisances, mosquito surveillance and control and emergency preparedness).

Provide Pack N Play portable cribs and Safe Sleep Survival Kits to families and caregivers that are unable to provide a safe sleep environment due to financial hardship. Survival Kit contains a sheet for the Pack N Play, a sleep sack for the infant, a bedtime storybook and educational materials for the parents. Family must come to the Board of Health office to pick up Pack N Play and receive instruction on proper assembly and use before taking Pack N Play home.

Provides diagnosis, x-rays, and treatment for people who have tuberculosis. Utilizes outreach workers to provide follow-up to TB patients to ensure that they are taking their medications as prescribed.

Tracks and investigates any animal bite, from domesticated or wild animals, including 10 day isolation of the animal (if animal is alive), testing of dead animals suspected of carrying rabies, and verification of the animal's vaccination against rabies if applicable. Provides disease prevention practices include the elimination of havens for rodents, baiting for rodents, reduction of standing water for mosquitoes, and treatment for larval and adult mosquitoes.

Receives communicable disease reports. Conducts investigations and surveillance for communicable disease. Works with physicians, patients, and the community to control the spread of illness.

Includes monitoring and control activities for mosquitoes to prevent encephalitis, West Nile Virus, Lyme Disease and other vector-borne diseases.

Provides inspection and code enforcement of: plumbing, water, and sewer service; sewage; schools; water wells; camps; recreational areas; swimming pools; groceries; food services; trailer parks; and solid waste disposal. Also provides planning for land use with soil surveys and layouts; rabies control; and nuisance abatement.

Works to prevent disease, prolong life and promote good health. Provides public health nursing, health promotion programs, disease control, birth and death information, and environmental health services. Addresses current and changing public health concerns.

Disease reporting, questions and concerns regarding infectious diseases and other public health emergencies. County residents play a major role in identifying and reporting communicable diseases at the local level. It is imperative that members of local communities are empowered with the knowledge and resources needed for fast and effective transfer of information. With a wealth of informational resources at our disposal, we will do our best to meet the educational needs of any county resident, medical professional or otherwise.

Provides communicable disease control monitoring and tracking for Clermont County. Reports to the Ohio Department of Health.

Licenses and inspects food service operations, vending machine operations, retail food establishments, and temporary food and mobile food operations as described above. Responds to consumer complaints regarding restaurant. Reports and investigates food-borne illnesses.

Offers diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis (TB). Includes chest X-rays, skin tests, medication, lab work and outpatient medical services. If medication is required, a prescription will be written and filled on-site. Monitors the incidence of the disease within Cuyahoga County (physicians are required to notify this program within 24 hours of suspecting an active TB case). Admits those who have symptoms of active TB who otherwise cannot be isolated within their current environment, such as someone who is homeless (any hospital should admit someone under those circumstances).

Investigates and reports communicable disease. Provides education for residents, clients, physician offices, and schools; as well as case management and follow up of reportable infections in Medina County.

Consultation and referrals by staff to residents or organizations affected by head lice and provide information such as fact sheets and website links.

Conducts a rabies prevention program. The department will place cats and dogs that bite on quarantine for 10 days and verify the animal has its current rabies vaccination.
