Provides a program that teaches responsible and safe babysitting techniques to grandparents. Participants will learn how to provide the best and safest care for their grandchildren. They will also learn the latest information on how to safely care for infants and children and how to manage the behavior of children of all ages, in addition to life-saving skills such as choking rescue, first aid, and injury management. Grandparents will learning tips on creating a good relationship from the start as well as learning to say no to every request to babysit. This will enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren.

Provides a wide variety of personal enrichment activities. Activities for children include acting, public speaking, baby-sitting, dining etiquette, dance/movement, science, arts and crafts, and computers. Classes for adults include acting, arts and crafts, computers, dancing, cooking, yoga, and body sculpting.

Classes offered in CPR instruction and first aid for adults, infant/child, re-certifications, & professional rescuer.

Provides calendar of community training workshops, seminars, and programs pertaining to child care and early education. Also offers family childcare home providers support, materials, consultation, and networking opportunities. Provides training to professionals regarding children with special needs who are in their care.

Provide early childhood child care referrals.

Provides child care subsidies for families who are eligible. This department also certifies providers who wish to provide care for children as a vocation.

Provides Ohio Approved in-person or virtual training to help early childhood professionals advance their skills, programs and careers. Child care providers learn from highly qualified instructors while interacting with other early childhood professionals. Training may include single sessions or series that focus on important child development, early childhood education best practices and basic health and safety training.

Provides services to families with birth to age 8 children with mental health/behavioral difficulties. Services include diagnosing problems, outpatient mental health services. Also provides consultation with schools, works with community day care centers and other service providers regarding young children with behavior problems and mental health concerns. Will also conduct assessment of youth in childcare providers' programs.

Models and teaches skills to enhance the capacities of all caregivers working directly with young children who present significant social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges. When further services are needed, connects child care settings and families to appropriate education and community mental health services and assists with care coordination.

Offers personal enrichment and recreational programs such as first aid, home repair instruction, photography, real estate, scrapbooking, dance, computer instruction and financial management classes. Provides babysitting instruction, days camps and art and crafts for youth.

Provides professional development workshops for home and center-based childcare providers. Offers assistance to individuals and groups wanting to start childcare programs (center, home or after school programs), provides center accreditation, Child Development Associate, and Step Up to Quality support and training.

Provides youth services classes with: Babysitter's Training, Disaster Preparedness such as the Pillowcase Project and Prepare with Pedro.

Offers training for early care and learning professionals that includes workshops ranging from early childhood, parent education, leadership development, business and nutrition. Training and technical assistance is also provided on topics such as infant/toddler needs, school-age programming, health and nutrition, and Step Up To Quality. Provides professional development for organizations through on-site or coordinated training, workshops or conferences.

Provides a wide range of services for families, including referrals to child care and early education programs that meet their family needs for child care. Provides assistance to parents and families on a variety of parenting topics, including discipline, literacy and special needs. Provides childcare provider training, a lending library with books and supplies for childcare providers, fingerprinting services, and the Step Up To Quality program for type A childcare providers.

4C for Children provides Ohio Approved in-person or virtual training to help early childhood professionals advance their skills, programs and careers. Child care providers learn from highly qualified instructors while interacting with other early childhood professionals either virtually or in-person at 4C training locations. Training may include single sessions or series that focus on important child development, early childhood education best practices and basic health and safety training.

This course prepares students to be better babysitters. Topics include how to provide care for infants and children, how to stay safe, what to do in an emergency, how to choose age-appropriate activities, and how to recognize and handle a variety of behaviors. Many classes are in-person, online, and blended.

Provides Babysitter's Training and certification through the American Red Cross.

Provides babysitting instruction for youth.

Provide financial assistance to cover day care costs on behalf of low income families so they may participate in OWF and/or education or training to maintain employment. This department also certifies day care providers to provide services through subsidized child care program.

Provides Ohio Approved in-person or virtual training to help early childhood professionals advance their skills, programs and careers. Child care providers learn from highly qualified instructors while interacting with other early childhood professionals. Training may include single sessions or series that focus on important child development, early childhood education best practices and basic health and safety training.

Provides a referral service to help families find appropriate child care resources and schools such as nursery schools, pre-schools, Head Start programs, before and after school care, and in-home care. Offers families information on choosing a child care provider. Provides training for child care providers. Maintains a calendar of child care training opportunities.

Helping to pay for child care is one of the many supportive services provided by MCDJFS. If a parent or caretaker is working, attending school or taking part in vocational training, the family may qualify for a child care subsidy.

This in-person course, which takes about 6 hours, teaches the same topics as the online babysitter training class, plus it offers hands-on skills practice and additional training in first aid. You can also sign up for Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR, which takes about 9 ½ hours and also offers a 2-year certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR. A digital certificate is available upon successful completion of this course. In class, you learn how to: - Respond to emergencies with first aid, rescue breathing and more - Make good decisions under pressure - Communicate effectively with parents - Recognize safety and hygiene issues - Manage young children - Feed, diaper and care for infants - Start your babysitting business.
