Offers youth courses that include babysitting education. Provides health & safety training for adults in the workplace, church, school or civic group and individuals. Topics included CPR, AED (defibrillator), first aid as well as blood borne pathogens. Choose from pre-scheduled classed or groups of 8 or more schedule their own time.

Grandparents: Getting Started | Safe Sitter

Provides a program that teaches responsible and safe babysitting techniques to grandparents. Participants will learn how to provide the best and safest care for their grandchildren. They will also learn the latest information on how to safely care for infants and children and how to manage the behavior of children of all ages, in addition to life-saving skills such as choking rescue, first aid, and injury management. Grandparents will learning tips on creating a good relationship from the start as well as learning to say no to every request to babysit. This will enhance their relationship with their children and create lasting memories with their grandchildren.

Advanced Babysitting Instruction | American Red Cross - National

This in-person course, which takes about 6 hours, teaches the same topics as the online babysitter training class, plus it offers hands-on skills practice and additional training in first aid. You can also sign up for Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR, which takes about 9 ½ hours and also offers a 2-year certification in Pediatric First Aid/CPR. A digital certificate is available upon successful completion of this course. In class, you learn how to: - Respond to emergencies with first aid, rescue breathing and more - Make good decisions under pressure - Communicate effectively with parents - Recognize safety and hygiene issues - Manage young children - Feed, diaper and care for infants - Start your babysitting business.
