No physician referral is necessary, however, they are often performed at the request of a physician to assist in monitoring the patient's hypertension. A 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended to ensure accuracy of your testing. Cholesterol screening measures the following: - Total Cholesterol - HDL (good cholesterol) - LDL (bad cholesterol) - Triglycerides - ALT/AST (liver function) - Glucose.
