A 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended to ensure accuracy of your testing. Cholesterol screening measures the following: - Total Cholesterol - HDL (good cholesterol) - LDL (bad cholesterol) - Triglycerides - ALT/AST (liver function) - Glucose. Our nursing staff will explain your test results and provide you with American Heart Association approved lists of foods to help bring your cholesterol numbers in line with current AMA recommendations.
