If you need an eye exam and do not have insurance and cannot afford one, work with your social worker, case worker, charitable organization or agency to submit an application on your behalf for VISION USA services. If an individual or family is eligible they will be matched with a volunteer doctor of optometry who will provide a comprehensive eye exam at no charge. Eyewear may also be provided at no cost or for a small fee/donation in some states.
Provides a variety of books, videos, CDs, DVDs, and other materials for use and loan. Offers homebound services, meeting rooms and a literacy resource center. Makes available computers, including Internet and other office aids for public use, and a variety of electronic databases for research and general use. Provide books and other publications in large print, low-vision aids, including computer-based assistive technology, and captioned and descriptive videos. Can reserve private computer rooms (virtual meeting space) for video conferencing (including use for court hearings.)

Accepts donations of used, medical equipment that is no longer needed from a variety of sources such as private citizens, nursing homes, independent living facilities, rehab facilities, etc. ACIL turns over ownership of this useable equipment to individuals who are not eligible to obtain the equipment through Medicaid or Medicare, do not have insurance and cannot afford the equipment. Donations are accepted to help ACIL continue to operate the REDI program.
