SNAP-Ed facilitates voluntary adoption of healthy food and physical activity choices and other good nutrition-related behaviors. Offers programs for adults with limited resources to attend providing free hands-on programs that teach the basics of nutrition, meal planning, budgets, food shopping, proper food preparation, and food safety.
The Family and Consumer Sciences program in Clark County strives to build strong families through educational programming. Programs focus on nutrition and lifestyle choices from infancy through retirement; managing time, money, and other resources; community health and environmental concerns; and managing the multiple roles of work and family life. These issues are addressed through programs offered in the community, newsletters offering information on these specific issues, and information offered via new technologies, such as the website.

Blood Glucose Screening is provided in the clinic during our regular business hours. A 2-4 hour fast is required to perform the blood sugar screening. There is NO CHARGE at this time for this service. Hemoglobin A1c testing is provided at a cost of $20 for all patients. Hemoglobin A1c screening monitors the average blood glucose levels over the last 3 months for those with a diagnosis of diabetes. It is an indicator of overall blood glucose control. Fasting is not necessary. Also will provide glucometers at no cost to Muskingum County residents when available.
